We went to the Igauzu falls (Las Cataratas de Igauzu) with some of Blanca´s friends who came to Argentina for a couple of weeks. We decided to go with the same agency as they were with, and although we weren´t impressed with the agency the falls were worth it!!! They are IMPRESSIVE!!! We saw them first from the Argentinian side where you can get very close, so close that you end up soaking wet in minutes from the spray brought up from the ferocity of the falls! We ended up making water proof skirts from rainproof ponchos we had, very fashionable! The whole area is beautiful and although the park is very touristy, it is well organized with balconies to all the main spots and you feel that the the natural surroundings are sensitively preserved. At the end of the day on the Argentinian side we took a rubber dinger into the falls, not getting quite under them as the force of the water coming down would have flipped the boat.
The day after seeing the falls from the Argentinian side, we took a short bus ride and had another stamp in our passport to see the falls from the Brazilian side. It´s a completely different experience as you can´t get close to them but you see the whole scale of the falls. There are 275 individual falls spanning a huge area and seeing many all at once was incredible. Especially when you were underneath the main falls called Garganta del Diablo (Devils Throat). After seeing al this, we were not surprised to learn that the falls are the second natural wonder of the world!
Cuando las amigas de Blanca vinieron de visita hace unas semanas, fuimos con ellas a las Cataratas de Igauzu. Decidimos unirnos al tour que ellas ya tenian contratado y aunque viajar con agencia no nos gusta tanto como organizar el viaje nosotros mismo, las cataratas nos dejaron impresionados!! Las vimos primero desde el lado argentino, en el que te puedes acercar tanto que en solo minutos estas calado hasta los huesos! Tuvimos que hacernos unas faldas impermeables especiales con una par de ponchos extra que teniamos! Quiza creemos una nueva moda! Toda la zona es preciosa y aunque el parque esta obviamente preparado para los turistas, esta muy bien organizado con pasarelas desde las que ver las cataratas principales. Al final del dia en el lado argentino, nos montamos en una lancha para acercarnos a las cataratas todo lo posible sin que la fuerza del agua nos arrastrara! Aunque es imposible llegar hasta ellas, y con el agua no se puede ver mucho, fue toda una aventura!
El dia despues, fuimos a ver el lado brasileño, para lo que tuvimos que pasar por los controles de la frontera y nos pusieron otro sello en nuestro pasaporte! Desde el lado brasileño se ven de una manera complatamente diferente, ya que no puedes acercarte pero tienes una vista panoramica de las inmensas cataratas; En total hay 275 y es impresionante ver muchas de ellas juntas, especialmente las principales, llamadas Garganta del Diablo. Desues de ver todo esto, no nos sorprendimos nada cuando nos dijeron que las Cataratas de Iguazu eran la segunda maravilla natural del mundo.

ya tenia ganas de ver las fotos d Iguazu, Maria y Bea ya me habian contado lo impresionantes que eran y tambien saber algo del voluntariado, me parece estupenda la actividad con ninos…y la cantidad de cosas que habeis hecho en Buenos Aires. Es normal que os de pena iros, pero os esperan momentos maravillosos en Peru donde tambien tendreis compania… muchos muchos besos.
