<Cafayate is oficially our new favourite place! In the shadow of Salta´s recent boom as a tourist destination, Cafayate is missed by most people or visited very quickly in one day, which is a shame. Very peaceful and known mainly for its wine industry, Cafayate is set in a beautiful landscape, in a valley surrounded by colourful mountains and vineyards, and it has summer weather all year round. People may think there is not much to do here but we could spend days visiting the wineries (most of them offer wine tours and tasting for free), cycling around the vineyards or trekking in the amazing Quebrada de Cafayate landscape. In town, there are great places to eat traditional food and see traditional dancing! In one of them, “the English man” was picked up to dance the samba with a Cafayateña and Blanca has never wanted a camera more! Unfortunately we only had a couple of days to do all this, but Cafayate is definitely in our list of places to come back to, hopefully during the harvest season.
